Krešimir Tomec

Born in Zagreb in 1970.

He starts his professional career in 1991 with the group Funny Hill, simultaneously studying at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing in Zagreb . Then he meets Hrvoje Rupčić and Nenad Grahovac. They meet again in 1993 when he joins the group Ritmo Loco, where, at that time, Mario Igrec, Jurica Ugrinović, Predrag Martinjak and Josip Grah played. By the end of 1995 they founded a group Cubismo where he stays till the present day.
During 1994 and 1995 he works as a lecturer at the Rock Academy in Zagreb . In the year 2000 with the group Cubismo, he leaves to Cuba , where he takes lessons from the bassist Robert Riveron (Cubanismo, Klimax).
In 2002 he gets a degree in Telecommunications at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing in Zagreb and travels to Cuba where he spends more than 2 months, meeting various Cuban musicians, discovering and studying different kinds of Cuban music (from son to timba).
In the meanwhile, he plays as a full-time or a part-time bassist in the groups: Naturalna mistika, Songkillers, Vještice, Divas, Bolesna Braća, and as a studio musician he appears on the recordings of more than 300 songs in Croatia .
In 2003 he starts his career as a producer and a composer, and opens a project studio in Ljubljana . He releases 12'' vinyl for the Perfect Toy label, Latin jazz broken beat under the name Kresho »Tumbao«.
In 2004 Tumbao appears on »Jazz It! Perfect Toy records« compilation, on Rambling Japan label. In 2005 12'' for Visions label is released, abstract hip hop under the name »Kresho Tomec« Universal Pattern!
